Bryant Furnace is not heating
The igniter gets very hot and glows bright orange to light the gas burner.
This is called an ignition element, used to start the heat in your furnace. If the heat turns out too hot or not hot enough, you should inspect the ignition element to see if it needs replacement.
To make sure the connection is good, you can use a multimeter set at resistance. If continuity isn’t present, you will want your flame sensor tested using a multimeter to make sure it works correctly.
In some cases, if the flame sensor is dirty, you may need to replace it as well. After cleaning or replacing both should yield better results.
Bryant Furnace starts and then shuts off
The Flame Sensor detects flames within a residence. If it’s defective, it might stop sensing a flame.
If it doesn’t sense one, then the control board will switch off power to the methane valve to make sure that the structure will not get hot.
Even if your sensor is dirty, absolve it with a fine abrasive cloth. When this is done and if you still don’t manage to light up your furnace then go ahead and repaste it.
Moreover, in order to find out whether or not your pressure switch is faulty,
use a Multimeter and evaluate whether or not there’s continuity present by performing a continuity test on it (i.e. check to see if the current can run unhindered through the wires connecting the two terminals).
If all checks are good then your Pressure Switch was correctly diagnosed as being bad; now replace it with a new one.
Bryant Furnace makes noise
Air is blown into your house from your furnace by the blower wheel. An in-line set screw connects the blower motor shaft to the blower wheel.
As a result of the low set screw becoming loose, the blower wheel will wobble on the motor shaft and become noisy as it rotates.
Check to make sure that the putty holding the set in place is thick enough to ensure proper support. Next, inspect the blower wheel for damage.
If you find that your blower has been damaged, you should purchase a new one. Over time, the bearings in your blower motor wear out causing it to become noisy.
Some furnace motors can be lubricated if yours can, try lubricating it first if this is possible by dismantling it carefully using a professional repairman or under supervision if you are more experienced at doing so.
If lubricating does not work then replace the motor immediately before it damages other components such as timers etc.
Furnace blower not running
The blower motor blows air through the return vent, past the heat exchanger, and into the home’s ductwork. To begin with, make sure the motor is getting power.
If power is getting to the blower motor, but the motor does not work, it is possible that the blower fan is burned out. If this is indeed the case, one must replace it with a new one.
If the blower fan spins freely but does not turn on at all, one needs to check their capacitors and make sure they aren’t leaking or bulging.
There may be defects in these electrical units that will need to be replaced in order for you to maintain heating in your home during the cold months of winter.
Furnace blower running all the time
The furnace’s control board has relays that help regulate the voltage to each component in the furnace.
As long as the blower motor relay is closed, the continuous voltage will be sent to the motor, causing it to run constantly.
You may locate and replace a faulty relay located in your furnace’s cover inside of your home. To check whether it is a bad thermostat causing your heating problems.
You can use a multimeter which should display continuity between two cables attached to the wall thermostat when they are pushed together.
