Whirlpool refrigerator led lights not working. The LEDs in your Whirlpool refrigerator’s door aren’t working? First, go and check that the small switch on the hinge isn’t broken.
If it is, it should be replaced ASAP as otherwise, you might have to wait a long time for repairs. In most cases, however, the wiring or the bulb is burnt out, so take one of them out and put a new one in its place.
The first step is to cut power by turning off the mains (or unplugging the appliance).
Next, slide open your freezer door, then carefully detach all wires connected to the bulb with a pair of pliers before unscrewing each end of these wires with a screwdriver.

If the door isn’t closed properly, something can cause the sensor to remain on. In that case when you open the door, since there is no light shining through, it stays off. Inspect the door switch and replace it if needed.
The wiring harness is connected
To troubleshoot and check if your fridge light isn’t working, this needs to be checked out. Brackets need to be opened up from one of the panels of a refrigerator which is usually located at the top of the fridge door.
They are often affixed with screws that can either be visible or hidden from sight, so make sure you check everywhere if there’s anything else stopping you from opening it.
Sometimes, the wiring harness can break especially if the appliance has been moved recently, therefore, causing adverse effects for other parts of the fridge.
Make sure that when something like this happens, it doesn’t get pulled away and remains connected to other parts inside.
The light assembly might be defective
The light assembly might not be working. This is a common problem, and can usually solve by buying a new light assembly. Sometimes you can even purchase it from the manufacturer.
The door switch is defective
To troubleshoot a faulty door switch with a multimeter, measure the resistance of the switch while activating it. This can be done by turning on the light switch and checking the output measurement on the meter.
If the door switch has no continuity, replace it with a new one.
The light bulb might be out
Before replacing the light bulb, make sure it’s dead. If it is and still doesn’t work, then throw a new one in there but only after replacing the parts of the old light bulb like its housing or screws so that you know the other parts aren’t faulty either.
When all those options have been exhausted, then replace the light bulb but only once every component has been checked for signs of damage and malfunctions as well.
Light Board does not work
Check that the refrigerator light is not working after making sure the voltage sent to the light board is correct.
Replace the light board if necessary.
Faulty Light Socket
To determine if the light socket is defective, plug in a working light bulb to the socket.
If the light bulb does not work, test for further issues using a multimeter.
If there is power but the light bulb does not work, this indicates that the light socket is defective due to a faulty cord or loose wiring, which requires the replacement of the socket.
Defective Light Switch
To determine if the light switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the light switch does not have continuity, replace it as soon as possible so that you and those around you do not come to harm.
