Whirlpool refrigerator freezing food

Whirlpool refrigerator freezing food. If your whirlpool refrigerator is freezing your food and drinks, the temperature setting for the refrigerator has been inadvertently set to too low.

You may want to try switching the temperature setting on the refrigerator from cold to medium or number five.

If you can figure out how try setting the specific temperature somewhere around 40 degrees Fahrenheit or a little below.

This can happen with freezer-on-the-bottom refrigerators when food in the refrigerator’s crisper drawer freezes. You will want to change one temperature as well, it should be set between 0 degrees Fahrenheit and 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

Refrigerators keep the food inside them cold. When your refrigerator works it keeps the temperature between 38 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit, which is ideal for most food products but if this range is not maintained, then that could lead to a massive inconvenience. You see, basically, there are two scenarios.

The refrigerator is not on a right temperature setting

The optimum temperature range for storing fresh food is between 3-4.5 degrees celcius.

If you’ve been getting the feeling that your refrigerator’s cooling system isn’t working right and your food is freezing, it could be due to the fact that your fridge is set to operate at too low a temperature.

As it turns out, this happens more often than you might think – in fact, research has found that 70% of refrigerators exhibit problems with their cooling systems after being shipped to retailers.

Door Seals Problemsdoor seals problems

Have you noticed that the temperature in your refrigerator feels much colder than usual? Well, one of the main reasons for this is because there is some sort of a leak within the seal between the door and inside of your refrigerator.

Without a very tight fit, it is harder for your fridge to keep its cool and as a result, it will run more often so that it produces enough coldness to maintain its temperature.

This condition will cause problems over time as one can expect their food supplies to be spoiled or expired due to a lack of sufficient temperate stability.

Defective Thermister

The thermistor monitors the temperature of the air inside of your refrigerator and sends it to a chip that regulates how much power gets distributed to the many components inside of your fridge.

For example, when your room falls below the ideal temperature setting you set on your refrigerator, it will push out either hot or cold air (or both if you have a dual zone) in order to cool back down again.

If there is a problem with this thermistor, then perhaps your refrigerator won’t be cooling down as much as you’d like.

Record the data you get when testing this device so that you can compare it later on after swapping out the one built into your fridge for one that works better.

The damper is not closing

The fridge’s temperature is broken and can’t keep the food inside from spoiling. If the damper is not closing properly, it will let too much cold air into the refrigerator compartment, making for an uncomfortable environment for everyone to be in.

Make sure it closes all the way or fix whatever is broken in order to bring down the temperature that your family has to endure without escaping their internal freezer.

The temperature control thermostat does not work

The temperature control thermostat switches back and forth inside, directing the flow of electricity to various parts of your refrigerator the compressor, condenser fan motor, etc.

If it is not working properly, this can make your refrigerator run longer than you want it to. As a result, you might find that the storage space is too cold when you open up the door!

Defective Main Control Board

The main control board might be defective, but it is rare that a main control board is actually the cause of the problem.

Before replacing the controller board, first test all of the more commonly defective components, such as letting your computer sit longer to see if equipment comes back online normally. If none of these components are defective, then consider replacing the controller board.

Need to store more Food Items

Refrigerators rely on vents to circulate cold air through the storage area to keep temperatures consistent and food fresh.
If the space in between compartments isn’t kept clear of obstructions, airflow will be reduced and your food may freeze.
