Whirlpool Microwave Won’t Work
With a thermal fuse, an appliance may shut off if it gets too hot, or too much temperature difference will cause the switch to trip as in a microwave, so let’s see if there are any problems.
We need a multimeter to test voltage and continuity so we can detect whether the thermal fuse has gone bad.
The thermal fuse works by stopping any current from causing more heat within the oven so that people don’t get hurt. The thermal fuse cannot be reset, you must replace it if it malfunctions.
The fuse line will blow if too much current passes through the microwave circuitry. The microwave will not be able to function after the fuse blows.
A multimeter can be used to check the continuity of the fuse. Replace the blown fuse if there is no continuity.
To prevent this from happening again, you should investigate and rectify the problem that caused the fuse to blow otherwise, you are resolving one symptom while exacerbating another.
Whirlpool Microwave Doesn’t Heat
Magnetrons in microwave ovens use high voltage, high current DC power to create microwave frequencies that cook food.

The handle actuator is a mechanical component that opens and closes the latch assembly of the door when the button on the door outer panel is pressed.
While it can be made of several materials, this particular component is plastic and is prone to breaking down over time. Should it break while performing its function, it must be replaced as soon as possible to avoid injury.
The door hook engages with the latch to lock the door during operation. During regular use, the plastic will eventually wear down and you may lose grip.
Once this happens, you’ll be unable to separate yourself from it properly preventing yourselves from entering or leaving what you were originally trying to protect.
If in fact your door hook is broken, try replacing it promptly so that everyone who needs access inside can freely enter and exit as needed.
Whirlpool Microwave Turntable Won’t Turn
The touchpad might be broken. However, the turntable motor might be out of alignment as well. First, try plugging in your turntable to ensure that it’s getting power, and then determine whether the problem really is with the touchpad.
To do this, test each button on your control panel by pressing them one by one. If some buttons work but others fail to respond, it may be a problem with the touchpad rather than the mechanism itself.
The glass support for the loading tray on the floor of the oven may need to be replaced if the microwave turntable isn’t turning.
These supports are attached to motor shafts in order to rotate trays, so check that the support is not stripped out or damaged before attempting a repair.
Whirlpool Microwave Light Is Not Working
Before replacing the light socket, make sure that you check to make sure that the light bulb is still functional.
If it is, turn off the power and use a multimeter (a useful electronic tool that helps measure electronic circuits) to test for continuity in the light socket.
That way you’ll know for certain whether or not there’s a problem with something essential in your circuit.
The light bulb itself may have simply burned out. But if that is the case, there may not be any need to replace any parts of the lighting unit.
You might just want to change the bulb instead. And if you were thinking of replacing other parts like a ballast.
You might want to think again because it’s probably a better idea to focus on changing out the actual old incandescent with an LED light for example that can save energy as opposed to an old incandescent one.
