Thermador ice maker not working

Thermador ice maker not working. Whenever a Thermador ice maker doesn’t work, the first thing to check is whether it’s turned on.

The Off position of this ice maker will be indicated by a raised wire arm on the side of the unit and the On the position of this ice maker will be represented by a lowered wire arm which should make contact with the body for optimum performance.

Here we will discuss some common issue and their solutions for Thermador ice maker not working.

Problem with Water Inlet Valve

If the water inlet valve is defective or has issues with its pressure then it won’t properly let the water flow and supply your ice maker. If this happens you will not get any ice in your fridge.

The water inlet needs at least 20 psi to work and to make sure it’s working you should test that the valve receives enough pressure by checking its Circuit Board (printed circuit board).

If all goes well have someone check the water supply that’s coming into your home and see if there are any problems there before calling a repairman.

Icemaker Module issues

The icemaker module is equipped with a motor that cycles the ice ejector arms, thereby rotating the icemaker tray, or turning a bail to eject the cubes into the ice bucket.

When your refrigerator’s thermostat or sensor on the icemaker tray reaches about 15 degrees Fahrenheit, it signals for power for the motor to release a batch of ice cubes.

At the end of the cycle, it sends power again to refill either water or another batch of ice into the molding chamber. If you suspect a material failure in one of these components, there are usually test points where a technician can use to further diagnose problems.

Problem with Door Switch

The door switch turns off the ice and water dispenser when the ice maker door is opened. If the door switch fails, the dispenser will cease working.

To determine if the door switch is defective, use a multimeter to test for continuity in the switch by activating it. If there is no continuity in the door switch, replace it.

Temperature is Above 10 Degrees Fahrenheit

If your refrigerator freezer’s temperature exceeds 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12C), it may affect the Ice Maker’s capacity to produce ice cubes and keep them frozen.

Adjust the Temperature Control to between 0 and 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to -15C) for optimal ice production. Check that the condenser coils are clean and that the Condenser Fan is working properly by listening for fan motor noise when the Refrigerator is running.

Control Board issue

Some refrigerators use an infrared beam to sense the level of ice in the ice bucket. When the ice level reaches the top of the bucket, it interrupts the infrared beam, which then triggers a board that is linked up to turn off your fridge’s iced-up maker.

When there isn’t much more room for ice and ice levels begin to recede, they automatically signal your fridges’ iced up maker to make more of it. If there are a series of thirsty moments that seem endless, ensure that you’re feeling decent and that your senses aren’t failing you by checking in with one single Ice Storm 7400 series infrared control switchboard.

Defective Icemaker Switch

Whether the icemaker switch is turned on or off (which it indeed could be), check the power to your machine. If you turn the switch on, but there is no power coming into the ice maker, replace any blown fuses.

Mold Thermostat

If you’re having issues with water not filling your ice cube tray and it seems as though your icemaker is broken, chances are that the thermostat on your freezer door may be defective.

Your refrigerator has a thermostat that makes sure there’s enough room inside the freezer section of your fridge to create cubes when needed.

Without this part, the machine will not function properly and you’ll have to manually run ice trays through in order to get any cubes at all.

One way to determine if your thermostat is faulty is to test for continuity using a multi-meter. If it doesn’t function properly, try replacing it.
