Sub zero refrigerator light not working. You may need to change the light bulb. This process varies according to your model of refrigerator.
But in general, you would need access to the bulb for most steps. We’ll cover how to replace both interior and freezer light bulbs with easy-to-follow steps.
Sub zero refrigerator light not working
If the light in your fridge is not on, it is possible that the bulb has burned out or you may need to change another part.
To see if this is true, check the bulb to see if the filament inside it has gone dark or broken and whether there’s a break in its continuity.
If so, unplug your fridge, change out the bulb, and try plugging it back in again. If this doesn’t work, you might need to replace another component instead.
Here are some more common reasons a fridge would not be working as intended and what you can do about them:
Defective Light Bulb
The light bulb might be out. Replace the light bulb before biting into any other component of the on-site light.
Faulty Light Assembly
The light assembly might be defective. Some manufacturers don’t sell the light assembly components separately, and instead, require you to purchase the light assembly.
Replace Light Socket
Use a multimeter to determine whether or not the light socket is defective. The light socket may be defective if the light bulb isn’t receiving power even though it’s in good condition. In this case, it should be replaced.
The door switch does not work
To find out if your door switch is not working, test it with a multimeter. If your door switch has no continuity when activated, replace it with a new one.
An issue with Light Board
First, if the light board is receiving proper voltage, check the wires coming out of the light board. If they feel warm to the touch, replace the light bulbs. If they feel cold, replace the light board.
Light Switch problem
Testing a light switch for continuity is easy. A multimeter, which is an electronic device that will measure voltage, current, and/or resistance, can be used in this process.
It is instrumental in making sure that the light switch you are testing isn’t shorted or merely dirty before replacing it.
Where is the light button on the Sub-Zero refrigerator?
While a few models of Whirlpool refrigerators have dispenser lights that illuminate the inside of the refrigerator, others require consumers to press buttons on panels near where dispensers are stored inside compartments.
Some examples of these include models 690 and 680, both made by Whirlpool. Refrigerators with dispenser lights can store both hot and cold food or drinks in the same space using glass or plastic cups.
How do I reset my Sub-Zero?
Turn the appliance off at the control panel, switch, or wall outlet. For appliances with a dial setting, turn to zero (0) or off. Turn the home circuit breaker to the appliance off and wait 30 seconds before turning it back on. Retest the operation of the appliance.
