It’s important to note that this is often misdiagnosed; make sure you check other parts of an air conditioner before replacing the temperature control board.
Once you are sure that all parts are working properly, replace the temperature control board.
Thermostat Problem
The thermostat is the brain of the air conditioner system. This device monitors the temperature of the room, and when it detects a rise above a certain level, it activates the switch that provides power to the fan and compressor.
If the thermostat does not send continuous power to this portion of the HVAC equipment, it won’t work properly.
To determine if you need to replace your thermostat, turn off both the fan and compressor in your air conditioning unit; then, using a multimeter, test for continuity on all wires going into and out of your old thermostat.
