Maytag fridge not cooling. It is possible for refrigerators with inadequate cooling to overflow due to insufficient air circulation. Check the condenser fan’s blades for obstructions as the first step in troubleshooting such a problem.

Maytag fridge not cooling
The most common reason why a refrigerator froze is a problem with the evaporator.
Over time, the coils will become frozen, which prevents your appliance from cooling properly.
If that does happen to you, then simply defrost these parts and let them do their job in order for your fridge to work on its own.
Defective Condenser Fan Motor
If the motor is faulty, move your hand in a circular motion above the blades of the fan. If they aren’t moving freely, there could be something wrong with the motor that you will have to replace.
Test continuity with a multimeter to see if there is anything wrong with the motor. You will need to replace it if continuity is not found.
Evaporator Fan Motor fault
Test the windings of the motor for continuity. Since a broken fan is the most common reason for not cooling, check to make sure the fan blades are moving freely by manually turning the blades.
If there is a restriction to their spinning, then you likely need to replace the motor.
However, if there is no movement and scratchy sounds coming from the bad fan when it’s turning or in general, then your compressor needs replacement.
Faulty Start Relay
Start relays allow the compressor to be turned on in conjunction with the start winding. Sometimes, a defective refrigerator might not run at all or might not run at all.
As a result, your refrigeration system will not operate properly to keep everything cold. Using a continuity tester, you can test the relay for gaps in the resistance between its terminals to see if it is defective.
The part should be replaced if there are no cracks and the smell of burnt rubber or plastic is present, regardless of whether that part has been damaged by moisture or corrosion.
Start Capacitor problems
A refrigerator’s start capacitor provides an initial burst of power to the condenser when it is turned on. If the start capacitor isn’t working, the condenser may not run.
As a result, your refrigerator won’t cool. To determine if the start capacitor is defective, test it with a multimeter. If it’s defective, replace it.
Condenser Coils are dirty
The condenser coils are typically located in the back of your refrigerator. This is where heat is transferred from your refrigeration system to the rest of it.
To do so, a substance known as refrigerant circulates through the coils, which normally dissipates any extra heat that’s built up there, but if the condenser coils are too dirty or clogged, they won’t be able to withstand it and will end up either not working properly or not being able to keep your fridge cold enough.

Temperature Control Thermostat
When you turn the thermostat dial completely to one side and then to the other, you should hear a click. If you do not hear anything, try using a multimeter to check for continuity on your thermostat.
Make sure that your thermostat passes both tests before replacing it if any of the settings are inconsistent.
If you run an electrical current through your temperature control board or main control board, then you can check if they are functioning properly, but these components are rarer than you might think.
Main Control Board issue
The main control board is one of the first things to test whenever there is a problem with your appliance. While it’s true that the main control board may be defective, chances are it’s almost never the cause of a problem.
To ensure you don’t replace parts unnecessarily, check all of the other components of your appliance before replacing only the main control board.
Defective compressor
Essentially, the compressor is a pump that compresses refrigerant and circulates it through the evaporator coils, the heating element, and the condenser coils.
When it isn’t functioning properly, your refrigerator won’t keep things cold. However, make sure that all of your other critical components are also in working order before you invest in a new one.
Having a problem with the thermostat or temperature sensor can cause an issue with your appliance, but it is not necessarily an issue with the compressor.
