Maytag Fridge Leaking Water. Sometimes the drain and drains can freeze, causing water to collect at the bottom of the freezer.
If not remedied, this situation can cause a Maytag refrigerator-freezer to a leak from the freezer to the kitchen floor.

Maytag Fridge Leaking Water
If your Maytag is leaking water from behind, the valve may be loose. Before you can achieve a completely leak-free refrigerator (or freezer section), there are some quick things you can do to make it drip less by simply tightening the cap or seal where the water line is attached before replacing it.
Water Line Check
The line that delivers water to the refrigerator produces water in multiple forms – from ice in a freezer to running water through a dispenser.
The line, regardless of whether it is within an air-conditioned unit or not, freezes at times and may produce traces of moisture on the outer surface.
These situations do no damage to the line or other areas relating to its production and should be ignored unless they become extremely frequent.

Leaking Water Tank
Simply slide the tubing into the connectors for a leak-free connection if you have a water dispenser in your fridge door.
If and notice water on the floor as you fill a glass, you may want to check that the vinyl tube running under your fridge hasn’t become damaged or worn out over time.
Removing the Access Panel
Remove food and any items that you don’t need to access the back of your freezer. Open the freezer door, take out the basket or basket-like container which holds larger or loose items, and leave it open.
Access the defrost drain cover at the bottom of the freezer by removing all food packages and moving them to either side of your freezer if needed.
Once clear, remove any screws that are holding it in place. Some access panels may simply snap on with prongs or clips that can be gently tugged until removed without unscrewing anything at all.
Make Sure The Drain Is Clear
If you’re still having trouble opening up a clogged drain, try using a straightened-out coat hanger that you’ve flushed with hot water and baking soda.
If it’s difficult to get through the clog, try making a hook at the end of the wire and inserting it into the clog in a swirling motion.
You can flush out any remaining debris from your drain line by pouring warm water down the sink from both the top and bottom with a funnel or baster.
Drain Pan Problem
Refrigerators have a drain pan inside them which often gets overlooked by users. When the refrigerator is on self-defrost, water from the evaporator tubing drips into this pan.
The condenser fan then blows air across this pan, which evaporates the water and flushes it away from the system.
To avoid a potentially costly repair bill, you can check your drain pan for cracks or leaks that could be the result of a tragic accident where something heavy was dropped on top of it.
Such an incident would leave a hole in the drain pan’s outer casing, allowing water to leak out as self-defrosting cools down your refrigerator over time.
If you do notice a leak coming from your refrigerator at any time, make sure you schedule an appointment with your local repair professional as soon as possible as many small problems related to plumbing problems inevitably grow into bigger ones unless addressed sooner rather than later.
Defrost Drain Clogged Or Frozen
If your refrigerator is leaking water from the defrost drain, there’s a chance the drain is clogged. To see if this is true, check to see if it’s frozen, as water overflowing from the armpit of this part can collect and drip onto the floor.
If you find that this is indeed true, it means that ice or debris has formed at the bottom of your unit and needs to be removed. Once a little time passes, take a moment to run a warm washcloth over frozen areas or let warm water run into the drain for a few minutes.
The point here is that you’ll need to separate any partially-frozen fresh-caught oysters, so they don’t seize up when they eventually thaw out.
Defective Water Filter Head
If the water filter head is cracked, inspect the outside of its seal ring. If there are any cracks in this area, it may be an indication the water filter head has been dropped at some point, and this could lead to a problem with performance.
If you discover cracks, do not put them back into use immediately because you may still be putting yourself at risk of having health implications if you drink unfiltered or poorly filtered water. The system needs to be replaced to guarantee safety.
Unplug The Refrigerator
Remove the power from your refrigerator. Plug your refrigerator into a different electrical outlet that’s farther away from water.
Make sure that this new spot is not in any way near water, otherwise, if you do this you could get electrocuted.
Make sure to take all nearby objects off the shelves while moving your refrigerator so they don’t accidentally fall on you while doing so.
Depending upon your refrigerator’s weight and bulkiness it may require two people to move it. Be sure to leave a dry towel nearby after ensuring no standing water remains on the surrounding flooring.
