If the defrost heater assembly fails it will not defrost properly, allowing ice and frost to continue building up until it eventually blocks airflow.
To determine if the defrost system is malfunctioning use a multimeter or ice pick to test the continuity of both parts of the heating coil.
If neither part registers continuity then order a replacement coil assembly and repair it.
Jenn Air Refrigerator Won’t Cool
A refrigerator’s starter capacitor may not work, preventing the compressor from starting and preventing the refrigerator from cooling.
This can happen whenever the mainboard receives a signal to initiate cooling from the thermostat, but no cooling occurs.
