Check The Condenser Coils

A condenser coil and a fan coil. Condenser coils work to move heat outside. They get dusty, which can make them less efficient at moving heat so they pull more electricity to run and your electric bill goes up!
Vacuum dust away every six months or so with a brush attachment on your vacuum. Use an air compressor to blow crumbs and larger items off the coils.
Issue With Compressor
The compressor is the center of a refrigerator. It works by compressing refrigerant gas and pumping it through the evaporator, condenser, and metering device.
Compressors are rarely defective. Before replacing your refrigerator’s compressor, make sure something else isn’t the underlying cause of your problems.
If all parts of your refrigerator appear to be functioning correctly, test the continuity of the electrical pins on the side of your compressor with a voltmeter to find out if there is an open circuit between them. If there is an open circuit, you need to replace your compressor.
Problem With Thermistor
The thermistor monitors the temperature of the fridge and sends that information to the control board. The control board then determines if it’s best to run the compressor or not, based on how cold it gets in there.
If the thermistor isn’t working, this will cause a problem with that system. Also, if you happen to check its continuity by using a multimeter, and they don’t match up with the resistance indicated at some point in time, we know it’s defective and needs to be replaced.
Control Board For Temperature
The temperature control board’s job is to provide electricity to the cooling components in a refrigerator. If the controls are broken, then power can’t get to these components and your appliance may begin malfunctioning.
If you run into issues with your AC not cooling, your first inclination might be to immediately jump in and replace the thermostat because that seems like it could potentially solve the boiling problem on a stove.
Making such an assumption with your air conditioning unit isn’t going to get you anywhere fast. It’s important to always test all of the components in your system prior to installing any new ones.
Thermostat With Temperature Control
The temperature control thermostat directs voltage to the compressor, evaporator fan motor, and condenser fan motor.
In order to test it, one should rotate the thermostat from the lowest setting to the highest setting and listen for a click.
If there is a click heard at either of these two settings, then it’s likely that there is nothing wrong with the thermostat and thus does not require replacement.
If a click was not heard when moving from the lowest setting to the highest setting or vice versa, then use a multimeter test if there is continuity. If there is no continuity then replace your thermostat.
Start Relay Malfunction
The start relay works with the start winding to power up your refrigerator. The compressor should blow cold air if the start relay is not defective. If it’s fried, you might have trouble cooling off your drinks, foods, and other leftovers.
Use a multimeter for voltage testing and thoroughly check if the part is working. If there’s an interruption from its wire sockets, then you know it must be replaced ASAP.
If the part gets too much voltage or heat exposure, then assume it’s fried and needs to be discarded as well!
Fan Motor For Condenser
The condenser fan is an important factor in allowing for sufficient airflow inside the refrigerator. When working properly, the condenser fan will draw air through the coils and over the compressor so that your food stays fresh.
If a problem exists with your condenser fan, you will be able to tell pretty quickly because there will be debris or frost accumulating around its blade.
Next, remove the cover from the base of the refrigerator, then try to spin it by hand. If you notice that it does not spin freely, replace it.
Replace a defective condenser fan motor by prying out the old one and inserting a new one in its place; reassemble per appliance manufacturer’s instructions.
