The best way to clean the rust off of your corrugated metal (if it gets on there) is to mix equal parts white vinegar and bleach in a bucket.

Pour or spray the solution onto the corrugated metal.

Which can just be left outside in the sun or you can place it outdoors in direct sunlight for two to three hours until it dries.

If desired, you can also wipe it down with a dry cloth once all of the solutions have been removed.

Following this cleaning process, seal off your corrugated metals using an acrylic-based high-gloss or matte sealer, whichever you prefer.

Vinegar and bleach can be used

Firstly, mix 1 part of vinegar to 2 parts of bleach in a bucket. This much acidic solution will corrode the metal, so it’s important to try and keep it off your metal fittings.

Pour or spray this solution over the corrugated metal. Let it dry for 24-48 hours, then wipe any excess rust with a damp cloth.

Again, if you want to remove all paint from your corrugated metal fence panels, let the solution set for another few days.

The best finish for painting your roofing material is a high-gloss or matte sealer based on your preferences.

Clean off the corrugated metal, being sure to remove all dirt, grime, or grease.

If both hands are free, some handy scrubbing from a broom handle can help speed things up as well. Rinse the cleaned metal and wipe it dry or let it air-dry.

Use a wire brush that can scratch up the surface of the new corrugated metal so that it rusts better and more easily in the future if one chooses to paint the corrugated metal at some point down the road.

Spray the corrugated metal with cleaner

Take the spray bottle, add enough hydrogen peroxide to fill about a third of it, and then shake it till the solution is well-mixed.

Pour this into another container you will use to clean the corrugated metal.

Spray that chemical onto the corrugated metal, shaking off any excess solution after you’re done for proper ventilation in your workspace.

Spread the table salt on the metal

Pour a small amount of the salt into your metal container and then pour hydrogen peroxide onto it. The peroxide mixes with the metal, but this causes the metal to rust.

Cover it with another layer of salt so that the reaction occurs more slowly. As you continue to pour more of the salt in, you can see the mixture change color and become brighter as it oxidizes.

Use a rag to clean the item

After drying, remove salt by rubbing the pieces with a cloth.

A sealing coat should be applied

In some cases, you may want to protect your project from the elements. That’s when a sealing coat can come in handy.

There are many types and one might be more ideal in specific cases than others. Some we’ve used successfully include polyurethane or acrylic spray.
