Baby Oil can be Applied
Another way to help loosen up the glue is by getting some eucalyptus oil or coconut oil and applying a few droplets onto the 3m adhesive. Then use your fingertips to rub it into the glue, which may wipe away any residue left behind.

Turn a hairdryer onto its highest heat settings and while holding the bottom of the plug, blow hot air onto the back of it until you see the residue loosen. Now it should be easy to remove.
Applying Petroleum Jelly
Scrape off the residue with a spoon. Rub the bits with petroleum jelly. To get rid of the smeared petroleum jelly, apply a few drops of dish soap. Rinse with hot water.
Make sure you apply warm water carefully to your garment so that it doesn’t get ruined or melted while in your wash cycle. Repeat these steps until you see no more traces of dirt.

Scrape up the adhesive with the edge of a credit card, working the length of the area until it is clean.
