Scrape off the residue with a spoon. Rub the bits with petroleum jelly. To get rid of the smeared petroleum jelly, apply a few drops of dish soap. Rinse with hot water.
Make sure you apply warm water carefully to your garment so that it doesn’t get ruined or melted while in your wash cycle. Repeat these steps until you see no more traces of dirt.

Scrape up the adhesive with the edge of a credit card, working the length of the area until it is clean.
