How do you reset the lid lock on a maytag washer

How do you reset the lid lock on a maytag washer. Both Maytag top-loading and front-loading washers come standard with the lid lock feature.

In order to pause the main function of the cycle, this optional locking system must be turned off.

During a paused cycle, your Maytag washer’s control panel displays information about your current load status along with the lid lock icon.

The control lock feature on front-loading washers disables the appliance’s control panel temporarily and requires that it be deactivated before any adjustments can be made.

When paused, the lid unlock feature allows you to make changes without interrupting the cleaning process.

Nearest to the Maytag washer’s display panel, you’ll find the “Cycle Signal” Button.

Pressing this Button deactivates your washer’s locking system: temporarily rendering it inoperable.

Alternatively, should you wish to place a brief pause on your washing machine’s current cycle, simply push down on “Start/Pause?”

Shown below that, you’ll see an illuminated text indicator that clearly states “Pause.”

Using either of these systems will allow you access to the inner parts of your washing machine at any given time.

This is also useful when trying to fix any errors while making sure everything is still running properly with minimal risk involved.

If  the lid lock light is flashing

If you’re experiencing problems with your washer and the lid lock light is flashing, the first thing to do is unplug the machine for about 10 minutes and then plug it back in.

This will reset your washer, as well as its flashing light which means that you know everything is still in working order manually.

You might also press and hold the ‘End of Cycle button for 20 seconds since this resets the washer,

as well as its flashing light so doing so will give you peace of mind knowing that your washing machine is back up and running once again.

Maytag Washer door or lid won’t lock

If the door lock is not working then you can’t close the door. This will cause the washer to not work properly if it doesn’t completely fill up with water or cause an error to appear on the display.

It could also be that one of your peers from another department has intentionally opened it up and left you a note inside telling everyone to forget about it for now.

There are two ways a door lock can fail, either mechanically or electrically. Inspect the door lock for damage. If there is any visible damage or if it’s not closing properly, then replace it.

The lid keeps locking on the washer

Standing at a corner behind the washer, twist your upper body until you can reach both of your hands around to the front opening. Grasp the insides of both halves and pull forward roughly 6 inches.

You should now see a pair of wires as well as a button with a rectangle recess underneath them. This is what we refer to as the lid switch.
