It controls the ON/OFF feature of your refrigerator’s ice maker and lets you know if there is a problem with it.

Faulty Door Seal

If the ice maker fails to operate it may be that the Ice maker assembly itself is broken. There are several working parts inside the control module of the ice maker which can cease to work completely, and most are not sold separately.
Also, ice makers have a relatively short lifespan, and may not always be worth fixing. If simpler, more straightforward parts like the water inlet valve or shut-off arm have been ruled out as faulty possibilities.
There is no mention of either on the warranty for the device at hand, replace it as a whole with an updated model instead of repairing it.
Icemaker Module issue
The icemaker module is relieved of its duty once the temperature of the water has reached 15 degrees Fahrenheit in ice trays.
Once this temperature is reached, the motor switches on and dispenses the cubes in the ice bucket.
The flow of water to comprise a cycle begins when the module releases either electrical or magnetic power to the inlet valve and ends when the next cycle starts.
If there’s an issue with your machine, just check whether or not your machine’s thermal sensor is faulty by turning it off for two minutes and then switching it back on again.
Then repeat this process three or four times to double-check that your remote sensor is faulty. Make sure your refrigerator’s power switch is turned on and if you have an icemaker with ejector blades, make double sure that ice cubes aren’t stuck within them.
If all else fails, troubleshoot through test points in the icemaker module until you locate where exactly there’s a fault in one of its circuits.
Icemaker mold thermostat
If your fridge doesn’t have ice, the ice maker should be checked. Ice makers consist of a Thermostat that measures the temperature of the ice mold (ice tray) and activates an ice harvest cycle when it has reached temperature.
When this happens, water is released into an ice mold that then freezes to create blocks. If the thermostat is defective, the ice maker won’t start making any more ice.
The Thermostat can be tested for continuity. Replace it if necessary to get your household back up and running.
