Dishwasher control panel not working. When you find that your dishwasher does not seem to be working as you had expected, there are a couple of likely causes for this.

First, either your dishwasher is having trouble connecting to a power source, or the dishwasher control panel may be locked by mistake.

The good news is you should have a simple solution to either of these problems as they’re both very easy to fix.

Replace Touchpad and Control Panel

Make sure the display is working and if so check that all of the buttons are sensitive and responding accordingly according to their function before you attempt replacement.

The touchpad and control panel may not be sold by the same manufacturer.

If they’re not, this does not mean the part itself is more difficult to get a hold of, it might just mean you have to buy them separately.

Touchpad issue

Make sure the dishwasher display works first. You might be able to get the display to work by pressing some of the buttons on the touchpad.

The touchpad may be malfunctioning if some of the buttons work correctly but others don’t. Control panels and touchpads are sometimes sold separately. Others require that you buy them together.

Replace the touchpad and control panel together if you cannot replace the touchpad individually.

 Check Main Control Board

The touchpad is the main control board’s equivalent in a dishwasher.

If there is a problem with your touchpad, it will sometimes not send voltage to the dishwasher main control board, causing the buttons on your control panel to not work properly.

Touchpads are often misdiagnosed; make sure you test more common parts before replacing your touchpad.

A Drip Cap

You may find that the dishwasher control panel does not work for one of two reasons either your dishwasher is not receiving power, or the child lock has been installed by someone in your home.

When your dishwasher’s breaker is off, you should flip the switch to “On” in order to re-enable it. For this child lock to be released, you must hold this button for four seconds. So press it.

Problems with electricity

To ensure the dishwasher is firmly plugged in, push on the dishwasher’s plug at the wall outlet. You can connect the plug of another appliance to the outlet that you are using for the dishwasher.

If that works, you know the outlet works. When the other device does not work, you know the issue is with the wall outlet or the dishwasher itself.

If the breakers are off in your home, open the breaker box and flip the kitchen’s breaker switch from “Off” to “On.”

The outlet won’t function without the switch in the “On” position. Be sure to turn the switch off and back on again.
