Amana oven not working

Amana oven not working. If nothing on your Amana oven is working, make sure the power cord is plugged into a grounded operational outlet.

Then check your circuit breaker and fuses to make sure that your power supply is operating correctly. If it’s a gas range, make sure the gas valve is turned on. You may need to reset the power to the range.

In case nothing seems to be working, check that the power cord is connected to a functional power supply and confirm whether it’s in working order by going over the voltage, electrical current, and wire capacity.

If you’re using a gas range, make sure the gas valve is turned on. In case of problems, one option might be resetting the power supply for your specific model of appliance.

Here are some common issues and solutions for amana oven not working

Bake Element Not Heating properly

bake element not heating properly

When the stove element is heating properly, it glows red hot. If the element does not glow red, this indicates that the element is not heating.

Often, if the heating element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. Inspect the heating element for holes or blisters.

To determine if the element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the element does not have continuity, replace it.

Faulty Broil Element

Inspect the broil element for visible damage. If the broil element is visibly damaged, it will likely not function as expected.

To determine if the broil element does have continuity, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the broil element does not have continuity, replace it.

The igniter is not working

the igniter is not working

If a gas oven will not ignite, the igniter may be defective. The igniter functions as a switch to open the safety valve, and it also heats up enough to create enough of a flame to ignite the gas.

If the igniter is defective, you can easily test if it works by turning on the oven while watching the igniter glow.

If the glow remains for more than one minute without creating an ignition, then this indicates that the igniter is too weak to open the valve.

Also, check if all electrical connections are secure and replace any part that shows signs of wear or damage.

Incoming Power issues

When there’s a power outage, we usually don’t give it a second thought, but that’s not the case for our ovens.

See, electric ovens require 240 volts of alternating current, and gas ovens need 120 volts.

Most of us take these types of things for granted, and if power becomes an issue then we’ll find ways to overcome it as best we can although sometimes it comes at great costs, like not being able to add that extra touch to a special recipe.

Control Board problems

The oven control board has relays standing by to send frequencies of electric current according to user settings and the like.

Not sending the right wavelengths would prevent this from happening. But is it likely to happen? Probably not!

First, test all of the heating components and if they’re in working order then something’s amiss with your control board.

If you determine that all of your heating components are working, then replacing your panel will do.

However, testing an oven circuit can itself be a challenging task so before whatever else you should figure out whether or not it’s worthy of it especially if you’re on a tight budget.

Defective Relay Board

Some ovens have a relay board that is equipped with multiple relays which control the electrical current to the heating element within your appliance.

If one or more of these relays has failed, your unit will not heat up, and in this case, you would need to order a new or replacement relay board for your unit.

Defective Safety Valve

The gas oven safety valve works with the oven igniter to provide gas to the burner. If the safety valve fails, the oven won’t heat. However, this is rarely the cause.

Before replacing the safety valve, first test all of the more commonly defective heating components, particularly the igniter.

Then test for continuity in the temperature sensor and transformer before replacing any electrical components.

If none of these components are defective, check that they are all connected properly before replacing any parts.
