Admiral washing machine won’t drain

Admiral washing machine won’t drain. Do you have a dirty washing machine that won’t drain properly? While this can be an annoying situation, there are ways to handle it. Admiral washing machines use a pump inside the tub to drain out the water.

The pump can become tangled with small objects or articles of clothing and stop working. When this happens, there will be a humming noise but no spin function on the machine.

Before taking your appliance apart, turn off the washer and unplug it for safety’s sake. Then try to remove any clothes that may have gotten stuck in the pump by hand if possible.

If not, it will be necessary to disassemble some parts of your washing matching and remove obstructions from within it.

There are many problems you might experience with your Admiral washing machine. Let’s discuss some common problems and ways to solve them in this post.

Defective Drain Pump

If draining problems persist, even after following the above steps, it is possible that a wire or small objects may have become lodged in the drain pump.

Verify that the pump is clear of any foreign objects by removing it, checking it for obstructions, and re-installing the drain pump.

However, if the drain cycle is still noisy after verifying there are no foreign objects in your appliance, then you should replace the unit with a new one.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly issue

During operation, the door lock secures the washer door shut. When the door is closed, the washer can begin to operate. The door switch prevents the washer from operating if the door is not latched shut. The washer will not spin or start if a door lock is damaged or a switch is shorted.

Test for continuity to determine whether it’s failed electrically, or check if it’s mechanically broken such as a crack into part of it or damage to the mechanism that causes it not close properly instead like the hole for the stopper is somehow obstructed or something and needs cleaning out first before doing anything else.

Clogged Pump or Hose

Sometimes, socks can make their way down the drain and cause clogs. Clogs in drain lines are a common plumbing issue that can be repaired easily with specialized tools.

Before removing any shutoff valves or plunging the drain line, check whether customers have plungers or similar items which could physically block the drain.

 Faulty Lid Switch Assembly

The washer lid closure keeps the machine from spinning when it is open, as well as stops undesired movement while it is in use. If the lid closure fails then your machine will not drain.

To determine if the switch is defective, you must remove the back cover and measure each of the three switches with a multimeter. If any one of these switches does not show continuity then replace it.

 Coin Trap problem

If a washing machine is equipped with a coin trap, the coin trap must be checked and cleaned periodically. If the coin trap is clogged, the washer will not suck all of the water out of clothes and will fill up during the wash cycle.

This can cause mold or mildew to grow on your clothing in addition to prematurely wearing out fabrics due to exposure to moisture and other foreign elements.

 Broken Water Pump Belt

Older washing machines may include water pumps and belts to help move water around the machine. If this belt is broken or worn out, it can prevent your washer from draining. If the belt shows excessive wear, replace it.

Replace Door Lock

Inspect the door strike assembly for damage. Replacing a broken door strike is a good idea. You should not repair the door strike if it is damaged because there are chances that another accident might happen due to repairs made.

Instead of repairing it, buy a new one and make sure this doesn’t get mounted near a wall or anything similar because it has sharp edges which might cause some problems in the future if it gets damaged again by anything falling on it or someone hitting it by mistake.

The drain hose is bent

First, make sure the drain hose isn’t kinked, twisted, or bent. These issues can cause an unnecessary blockage which makes cleaning more difficult. The best way to solve this is to check for obstructions.

If there are any, these will need to be removed by hand. A new drain hose may actually be better for you than repairing a damaged one.
